East Hartford CT
Roof Replacement due to Wind Damage
Before
After
The roof was fully replaced and covered by insurance. According to CT Gen Stat § 38a-316e When a covered loss for real property requires the replacement of an item or items and the replacement item or items do not match adjacent items in quality, color or size, the insurer shall replace all such items with material of like kind and quality so as to conform to a reasonably uniform appearance. This means the full roof needed to be replaced to keep a uniform appearance. This customer went with Owens Corning Brownwood Shingle color and Copper Chimney Flashing.
This is the Ideal metal for around the chimney due to its durability and appearance. Copper is also environmentally friendly compared to lead which can contaminate the area around it.
