A new roof is a big ticket item and I sure am glad I got this one right. Mike and the entire Rhino-Back team have been outstanding! From the initial consult to signing on the line, I felt like I was making an informed decision. They were great. Came on time, finished quickly – earlier than expected. Very professional. Great owners and staff. Easy to contact. They called and kept us informed on every step of the project. A storm was coming in and they stayed late to make sure the project was finished so we would not have problems with leaks. They made sure to cleanup and the workmanship is wonderful. We have dealt with many contractors (fired a few) through the years and Rhino-Back roofing is the best. We would recommend them 100% percent. Great quality, workmanship and they made that we were happy.
This is a family owned business. Owners Mike and Lisa are both very involved in the business and live locally. Mike is a professional who is customer focused. My roof was leaking leading up to the job and I realized that an incoming storm was going to cause problems. I left Mike a voicemail around 8pm and the next morning at 8am he had his site supervisor at my house to put a temporary tarp on. Made all the difference and was a great way to start a relationship with a customer. In every way, my interactions with Mike were top notch. His crew does operate independently meaning Mike is not on-site when the work gets done. The one and only item that came up was during the installation of the plywood overlay. The crew missed a board of wood that had begun to rot from the inside. Once I pointed it out they ripped up the plywood and replaced the piece at their own cost. Still, I didn't like having to get involved especially around an area that was discussed heavily during the sales process. However, they made it right immediately when I brought it to their attention and this was the only item that came up. Overall.... The work was done on the exact timeline that was promised. The cleanup was impressive. The job looks great. Time will tell with regard to the work product but during yesterday's downpour everything stayed dry. If my mother needed her roof done tomorrow, I'd hire these guys. You could go cheaper but you'd probably pay for it in the long run. Good value. Thanks Mike!

Rhino-Back did an excellent job, on time and on budget. They completed the work in one day and did a thorough job of post installation cleanup, even coming back after the job to clean up screened in porch that had roof removal debris in hard to reach places. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best roofing products installed by a professional, accountable contractor.

was extremely pleased with Rhino-Back roofing owner Mike's attention to detail and completeness when explaining the roofing system, products, cost estimate and warranty. During the follow-up to the estimate, when we discussed some changes, Mike was prompt and very responsive via email and phone to resolve any issues. The Rhino-Back crew stripped all shingles, removed and replaced about 25 sheets of damaged or moldy plywood, replaced 2 skylights, and re-shingled the roof, all in only 1 day. The clean-up was thorough, and there was even a second clean-up person that came the following day to get any small debris that was missed by the roofing crew. This is a 5-star outfit, in my view, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone with a roofing issue.

From the initial meeting to educate me on roof shingle replacement to the follow up before starting the job, Mike the owner is the consummate professional. Mike walked me through every detail and didn’t assume I knew or didn’t know anything about my roof. Once his crew showed up, they worked tirelessly throughout the day to complete the job. I have a 2500 sg ft colonial home, so it was realistic to think that if could take two days. Josh the foreman was checking in with me throughout the day, which was a Saturday by the way, to make sure I was happy with everything. Josh showed up the day before to walk me through the process and showed up the Monday after to make sure I was happy with everything. I strongly recommend using these guys, I have had my roof priced from other contractors in the area and in some cases the cost was double.

The roofing project went great! Starting with the initial estimate, Mike, the owner, was very clear and enthusiastic in presenting his company and the shingle roofing system they use. His pricing was also very reasonable. He was flexible on the start date as he knew I was starting a new job soon and wanted to be home the day of the job. On that day, Josh, the project supervisor was here about a half hour earlier than the start time. He was friendly and easy to talk to and answered any last questions I had as he explained how the job would proceed. The roofing team arrived a little early and immediately got to work. It was really amazing how energetic and efficient his crew was. They were nonstop action from beginning to end aside from a well deserved lunch break and finished the job in one day. I was expecting it would take two days so was pleasantly surprised. They also cleaned up my property very well and Josh even stopped by the next day to do a more detailed cleanup of smaller material. Finally, Mike followed up with a phone call a few days after completion to see if I had any questions or concerns. Rhino-Back did a great job and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement or any type of roof work!
We highly recommend Rhino-Back Roofing! Mike Trouern-Trend and his team were fantastic. We had 3 other contractors look at our roof before choosing Rhino-Back, and we have no doubt we made the right decision! Part of our roof is a low pitch that was added onto the house- the roof installed on this part of the house was designed for a steeper pitch, and we had some leaking in the fall… Mike came over as a courtesy and helped us come up with a solution at that time, which got us through the winter with no issues. This spring, Rhino-back replaced our entire roofing system. Most of the house was shingles- we had a rubber roof installed on the low pitch section. Rhino-Back’s team was quick, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves…. not to mention the new roof looks great! They followed up to make sure the property was spotless and we were satisfied- which it was and we certainly were! Save yourself the headache of trying to find the right roofing contractor and call Rhino-back!

Everything went well. Mike was even patient when we changed a few items a few times. He worked with us the entire time. We felt confident in their ability to meet our expectations and they did. The clean up was also excellent. They even sent someone back after to triple check for remaining nails. Excellent work all around. Rhino Back Roofing was professional from day one. We had several contractors come to our home to inspect our roof and give us estimates for a new roof. Mike did a very complete inspection – far more than the other representatives from other companies. When he was done, he provided us with a very clear estimate for his services. He helped us to understand the entire process and what to expect every step of the way. Despite the difficult spring weather, he was excellent about communicating with us about when he would come to complete the project. When he and his crew arrived, we were very impressed with their quality of work, attention to detail, and seamless teamwork to complete the roof in less than a full day. The crew members were incredible! We have lots of delicate landscaping around our home and we were very concerned about the damage that might occur. When they were done cleaning up, we were astonished to see that nothing was damaged. Removing two layers of shingles and plywood is certainly messy, but their clean up far exceeded my expectations. Mike even came by after the dumpster was removed and did a final clean up and inspection. We have yet to find a nail or shingle around our house. The quality of the roofing materials and the roof guarantee was far better than others offered; yet Mike’s prices were the same as the others. His communication and follow-through also far exceeded my expectations. The final cost was actually a little less than his estimate and we could not be happier with the new roof.

Mike & Josh at Rhino-Back were outstanding to work with. We were closing on a home in Simsbury and discovered it needed a new roof. Mike went out to look the very next day to give an assessment – knowing that we were under a tight deadline with our close and with a snow storm on the way. He did an excellent job clearly explaining all of the work he was going to do, and kept in touch every step of the way. Josh was able to start and finish putting our roof on two days after we closed on the house and the day before the snow hit – it was the quickest, cleanest job I’ve ever seen, and we couldn’t be happier with the way it came out. We would definitely recommend Rhino-Back to anyone.

Job went smoothly and was fully completed and cleaned with all debris removed in 2 days. Everyone involved, from the owner to the installation techs to the final clean-up tech and waste container people were thoughtful considerate individuals who truly cared about their workmanship. They were respectful at all times and well trained and skilled at their duties. After observing them working on our neighbor's roof, we did not hesitate to call; and, after speaking with Mike, were very excited to contract with him.
