Just had our Canton CT roof done, and couldn't be happier with the results. VERY professional company and wonderful to work with. Mike and his team were so great to work with , and extremely knowledgable on every aspect of the process. They not only completed the roof on time and in one day , but we're also very thorough with clean up and even offered to come back at some point to clean up any nails that may have landed in the snow ( roof done in December). Great company .

Rhino Back was one of the best contractors that I have worked with in a long time. Mike and Josh were very professional as well as there crew. The job was completed in one day, and they even sent someone back the following day to make sure that the cleanup was done to perfection. I received pricing from 4 other contractors and they fell in the middle. I would highly recommend Rhino Back for your next roofing project. Starting at documenting the hail damage with the insurance company to answering all of our questions through out the whole project. The roofing team was careful of shrubs and property, skillful and very efficient through out the installation of multiple roofs on two structures. We decided to replace our existing roof so we contacted three local area contractors. One was more of larger company doing roofing all over CT, the other two were local guys. The larger company gave us a solid quote, but the person who came and looked at the roof was a total salesman. We had some questions about the roof that he could not answer but said he would have someone call us. The other local guy missed the scheduled time then did a drive by the house, providing a good quote, but never even talked to us. Then there was Mike from Rhino. Mike showed up on-time and was very friendly. He looked over the whole roof and even went into the attic to get a good feel for the job. He then spent about an hour taking us through the job, answering all our questions right on the spot. It was obvious he knew his stuff! Gave us outstanding advise that kept us from spending on unneeded modifications to the roof. Mike gave us a very solid quote. He was not as cheap as the larger company, but it was clear we would get an outstanding product from him and his team. I think that the other company was making up the costs on ridge vents along with some other cost cutting adjustments that Mike advised against. We took Mike’s advice and could not be happier. Josh, Mikes project manager was awesome. The team showed up on-time and knocked out the job in two days and we have a big house. They were so friendly and helpful, we cannot say enough positive things about the guys. As for the roof, it looks awesome!! Mike helped us pick the color and he was spot on! We love it! 10 for 10 for Rhino-back roofing – the entire team. It was worth paying a bit more for such quality work and advice.

Rhino-Back Roofing was fantastic from start to finish. They spent a lot of time evaluating the job, answering questions, explaining the process and the products they would use. They provided a very detailed estimate. They were able to schedule the job very quickly since it was estimated at a 1/2-day project. They gave us feedback on everything we would need to do to prep for the project – acquiring a dumpster, clearing some trees – and then gave us updates as materials were delivered, followed by check-ins to ensure the materials were correct. The crew is fantastic – very respectful and friendly. They work quickly and efficiently – clearly have been a team for a while. They needed to do some extra repair work once the old roof was removed, and quickly got the materials they needed and made the repairs. Due to that, they thought they might need extra time, but they were still able to finish by the end of the day. Their clean-up was phenomenal – they checked all around the premises for pieces of roofing, nails, etc. They came by to do a walk-around to check on the work. The quality of the roofing materials is fantastic – wish that our whole house had these products! They stayed in touch regarding the warranty papers and even sent a beautiful thank you gift. We would highly recommend Mike Trouern-Trend and Rhino-Back Roofing!
We just had our roof done, and were very pleased with RhinoBack. Mike and his team were great to work with and followed through to make sure we were completely satisfied with the new roof – even after paid in full. They were very responsive and came back a couple of times to make sure they cleaned everything up (had to wait for the snow to melt on the ground). We got several quotes for our roof, but I’m glad we went with RhinoBack and would absolutely recommend them to friends.

Mike did a great job selecting the appropriate color tiles. The timeline of the project was laid out and all deadlines were met or exceeded. The new roof sections were seamlessly matched to the existing roof–the workmanship is excellent The cleanup was impeccable. The entire team was very professional and great to work with. They replaced my roof and all the wood under the shingles. They did a phenomenal job all in one day. They had 8 people working on it. Everything was done exactly when and how it was described. When at the last minute, I asked for a postponement until a day when we wouldn’t be home to hear all the noise, there was no problem. It looks great and the cleanup was perfect.
We had hail damage and the whole experience was amazing from dealing with insurance and keeping me updated to super friendly and knowledgeable staff to professional and courteous installation team. What makes for a great roofer? Good price, of course. But the work has to be quality and the materials top notch. They should arrive when they say they will, perform the work in a timely fashion, and clean up the area, leaving it in the condition they found it. If you agree that this describes a great roofer, then you’ve found who you are looking for in Rhino-Back Roofing in Simsbury, CT. They arrived punctually at 7 a.m. with an 8-man crew; had both layers of the old roof off by noon, and by dinner their meticulous clean-up left my property neater than they found it! Plus, they were courteous, attentive to detail, and followed up to make sure nothing had been forgotten. I would unhesitatingly call them again, and am happy to recommend them here.
This is a family owned business. Owners Mike and Lisa are both very involved in the business and live locally. Mike is a professional who is customer focused. My roof was leaking leading up to the job and I realized that an incoming storm was going to cause problems. I left Mike a voicemail around 8pm and the next morning at 8am he had his site supervisor at my house to put a temporary tarp on. Made all the difference and was a great way to start a relationship with a customer. In every way, my interactions with Mike were top notch. His crew does operate independently meaning Mike is not on-site when the work gets done. The one and only item that came up was during the installation of the plywood overlay. The crew missed a board of wood that had begun to rot from the inside. Once I pointed it out they ripped up the plywood and replaced the piece at their own cost. Still, I didn't like having to get involved especially around an area that was discussed heavily during the sales process. However, they made it right immediately when I brought it to their attention and this was the only item that came up. Overall.... The work was done on the exact timeline that was promised. The cleanup was impressive. The job looks great. Time will tell with regard to the work product but during yesterday's downpour everything stayed dry. If my mother needed her roof done tomorrow, I'd hire these guys. You could go cheaper but you'd probably pay for it in the long run. Good value. Thanks Mike!

Spent time figuring out our problem (ice dams and water damage) which happened to be structural. Replaced the roof on the full dormer, correcting the problem and moisture proofing. Done in less than a day and cleaned up as well. Knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

Mike and his team are awesome…highly recommend! We needed a new roof last year after it was damaged from the terrible winter weather. We had leaking in our kitchen and ice dams all over the roof. We looked at a few companies before deciding to use Mike and his team. Mike seemed like he truly cared and didn’t treat us as just a number. He was very thorough with his estimate, answered all the questions we had, and even helped us provide the necessary info to our insurance company. Their quality of work was excellent and the job was done in two days. Mike even came back a few times to check and make sure everything was as it should be and our rain guard was working properly. My wife and I shopped this job the best we could. We requested quotes from four companies for our roof replacement, skylight replacement and chimney repair of which two of the companies were referred by neighbors. Two of the four were not able to quote the chimney repair but the quotes were itemized so we were able to compare apples to apples. The difference between the highest and the lowest was $1,500 on the roof replacement. The shingles offered were Corning and Timberline. We read every review we could find on both and found that Corning had a slight edge because it has a nailing strip. This wasn’t a make or break difference. We had four quotes from well-reviewed and experienced roofing contractors so we based our decision on who we thought would be the most likely to do the best job, expert and clear communication on remedy for existing roof leak and ice damming, the most likely to return to fix a problem, price and value. Rhino-Back Roofing was the clear choice. The job took three days, the roof looks great, the skylights fit perfect and the chimney looks awesome. The service was professional and the cleanup was good.
Very professional , and pleasant to work with. Crew came after dumpster delivered, and they worked all day, prepared the house with tarp to cover shrubs, and cleaned up all day after themselves . Very attentive to your needs, and very helpful thru the first interview with Mike, who took the time to show me the whole process, and got me in as soon as possible, as I had a leak. Josh, the supervisor, was in and out all day, and very helpful, too. I have lived in my home 40yrs and this is my 3 roof. Never felt so confident, that this was the best job ever. Thanks Mike.
