Excellent! Mike (owner) and his crew (led by on site foreman, Caesar) reported to the job at the appointed time. They answered all my pre work questions and concerns and began work. They proceeded to strip the previous roof and replace the existing skylight in less than a day. I am so impressed with their workmanship and the results. Mike was back several times during the day to check on progress and address any possible complications. Stripping the original materials and dropping them in a designated area resulted in a spotless cleanup of a messy job. They were done in a day and when they left you could not tell that they were there, as my deck (drop area) was spotless. Their work has enhanced the value of my property at a very fair price.

Job went smoothly and was fully completed and cleaned with all debris removed in 2 days. Everyone involved, from the owner to the installation techs to the final clean-up tech and waste container people were thoughtful considerate individuals who truly cared about their workmanship. They were respectful at all times and well trained and skilled at their duties. After observing them working on our neighbor's roof, we did not hesitate to call; and, after speaking with Mike, were very excited to contract with him. This is a first class company from top to bottom.

We decided to replace our existing roof so we contacted three local area contractors. One was more of larger company doing roofing all over CT, the other two were local guys. The larger company gave us a solid quote, but the person who came and looked at the roof was a total salesman. We had some questions about the roof that he could not answer but said he would have someone call us. The other local guy missed the scheduled time then did a drive by the house, providing a good quote, but never even talked to us. Then there was Mike from Rhino. Mike showed up on-time and was very friendly. He looked over the whole roof and even went into the attic to get a good feel for the job. He then spent about an hour taking us through the job, answering all our questions right on the spot. It was obvious he knew his stuff! Gave us outstanding advise that kept us from spending on unneeded modifications to the roof. Mike gave us a very solid quote. He was not as cheap as the larger company, but it was clear we would get an outstanding product from him and his team. I think that the other company was making up the costs on ridge vents along with some other cost cutting adjustments that Mike advised against. We took Mike’s advice and could not be happier. Josh, Mikes project manager was awesome. The team showed up on-time and knocked out the job in two days and we have a big house. They were so friendly and helpful, we cannot say enough positive things about the guys. As for the roof, it looks awesome!! Mike helped us pick the color and he was spot on! We love it! 10 for 10 for Rhino-back roofing – the entire team. It was worth paying a bit more for such quality work and advice.

We are extremely pleased with our new roof by Rhinoback Roofing. Out of all of the companies that bid on our roof replacement, Mike was the only one who took the time to explain every detail of the project, including his findings from inspecting our attic and covered porch areas. He thoroughly reviewed with us the superior quality of his product (Owens Corning) vs the shingles and underlayment used by other companies. Our own research confirmed what Mike had shared. The crew was fantastic - thorough, clean, polite, and fast! They completed our large project in a single day. My wife and I shopped this job the best we could. We requested quotes from four companies for our roof replacement, skylight replacement and chimney repair of which two of the companies were referred by neighbors. Two of the four were not able to quote the chimney repair but the quotes were itemized so we were able to compare apples to apples. The difference between the highest and the lowest was $1,500 on the roof replacement. The shingles offered were Corning and Timberline. We read every review we could find on both and found that Corning had a slight edge because it has a nailing strip. This wasn’t a make or break difference. We had four quotes from well-reviewed and experienced roofing contractors so we based our decision on who we thought would be the most likely to do the best job, expert and clear communication on remedy for existing roof leak and ice damming, the most likely to return to fix a problem, price and value. Rhino-Back Roofing was the clear choice. The job took three days, the roof looks great, the skylights fit perfect and the chimney looks awesome. The service was professional and the cleanup was good.
I am a big fan of this family owned business. We just had our roof done by them. They were easy to work with, competitively priced and superior in their workmanship in every way. They were fast, clean, trustworthy and skilled. Can’t say enough what a great job they did. They showed up when they said they would. We had no headaches, no complaints.
This is a family owned business. Owners Mike and Lisa are both very involved in the business and live locally. Mike is a professional who is customer focused. My roof was leaking leading up to the job and I realized that an incoming storm was going to cause problems. I left Mike a voicemail around 8pm and the next morning at 8am he had his site supervisor at my house to put a temporary tarp on. Made all the difference and was a great way to start a relationship with a customer. In every way, my interactions with Mike were top notch. His crew does operate independently meaning Mike is not on-site when the work gets done. The one and only item that came up was during the installation of the plywood overlay. The crew missed a board of wood that had begun to rot from the inside. Once I pointed it out they ripped up the plywood and replaced the piece at their own cost. Still, I didn't like having to get involved especially around an area that was discussed heavily during the sales process. However, they made it right immediately when I brought it to their attention and this was the only item that came up. Overall.... The work was done on the exact timeline that was promised. The cleanup was impressive. The job looks great. Time will tell with regard to the work product but during yesterday's downpour everything stayed dry. If my mother needed her roof done tomorrow, I'd hire these guys. You could go cheaper but you'd probably pay for it in the long run. Good value. Thanks Mike!
Have a roof stripped and reshingled is an extremely stressful experience, both mentally and financially but, I was impressed with the quality, timeliness, and professionalism of Mike, Tim, and the other guys showed before, during, and after my roof project. Rhino Back (Mike) was the ONLY company who checked up in my attic for circulation; all the others were going to give me venting I didn’t need. Tim walked me through the process and kept me informed every step of the way. I had several ex and current builders watching the project and was told the workmanship was top notch; especially in regards to the chimney flashing and vapor barriers. When the job was completed, the guys made sure every nail was picked up. They even sent someone the following day to clean up after dumpster removal and do one more trip around the yard for anything that might have been missed.
During the quoting stage, I was presented with options and given clear explanations on the pros and cons of each. They went beyond what anyone else did and made recommendations that others overlooked, but made perfect sense to do. The work was completed as scheduled and clean up was thorough. Even after the job was done and paid for, Mike made a point of following up to see if I had any questions or problems. Total professionals! I would recommend them highly to anyone needing roofing work done.
Rhinoback is one of the best contractors I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Owner Mike T is very pleasant and professional, and the manufacturer he uses, Owens-Corning, is top-notch. Mike explained everything in detail – roofing materials, the Owens-Corning warranty, and every step of the installation process --- and was the only one of the roofers who bid on the project to actually inspect the attic and crawl spaces to make sure the wood infrastructure was sound. Installation took one day – the crew of seven showed up at 7 am and by 6 pm the roof was finished, all debris was cleaned up, and the house looked terrific. Production manager Josh was on site all day to answer questions, and came back the next day to make sure that every old nail and shingle had been thrown away. You’d think such quality would be prohibitively expensive (and roofing is by nature costly) but Rhinoback’s price was mid-range of all the estimates I received. I highly recommend Rhino-Back!

Workers showed up exactly on time and immediately went to work removing old roof. Started at 7am and had new roof on and cleanup completed before the end of the day. Entire process was fully explained beforehand. Best experience I've ever had with a contractor.
Great communication, very customer focused, competitive pricing and a very experienced crew. Mike is running a stellar company; Josh (the foreman for our house) was extremely personable and spent plenty of time walking me around the day (single - they did our roof in about 7 hours) explaining what was going on. They were competitive in price in the area, are committed to the community, and the work is top notch. We're so happy with the work (and the look of the new roof!), we've recommended them to at least 3 friends. You won't be disappointed.

Mike & Josh at Rhino-Back were outstanding to work with. We were closing on a home in Simsbury and discovered it needed a new roof. Mike went out to look the very next day to give an assessment – knowing that we were under a tight deadline with our close and with a snow storm on the way. He did an excellent job clearly explaining all of the work he was going to do, and kept in touch every step of the way. Josh was able to start and finish putting our roof on two days after we closed on the house and the day before the snow hit – it was the quickest, cleanest job I’ve ever seen, and we couldn’t be happier with the way it came out. We would definitely recommend Rhino-Back to anyone.
