Full Roof Replacement due to Active Leak

Issue: This customer had an active leak. There was an addition added on to the home which caused the valley to be at a weird angle. This created an area where water could pool and caused leaks into the home. In some situations, leaks are not repairable because it would affect the integrity of the entire roof if only a portion is repaired. This home needed a full roof replacement.
Solution: The roof was fully replaced. We increased the pitch of the roof in the valley to help prevent water from pooling. Increasing the pitch allowed the water to flow off the roof and solve the issue of active leaks. This customer went with Owens Corning Harbor Blue Shingles and Lead Chimney Flashing.
What is the valley of a roof? This is the area where the roof slopes come together and water collects to flow off the roof.
Why lead flashing? This is the most common metal used for chimney flashing. It can last for years. The downside of lead flashing is the environmental impact lead from a chimney flashing can leach into the groundwater of the property. Many people chose copper as an alternative because it's better for the environment and has a better appearance.
